Cannondale, acquired by Pon, announced an ambitious global growth plan. It will open two new assembly plants in Europe and the United States, hoping to provide dealers and customers with more and better quality bicycles in a shorter period of time. This is one of the largest investments in Cannondale's history, which will double its operations in Europe and the United States.
Cannondale plans to double its market share in North America and Europe in the next three years and build two factories. It will build a factory in Almelo, the Netherlands in September 2022. After completion, it will increase European production capacity. Increase by two times. Another factory, the Georgia factory, which is scheduled to be completed in the third quarter of 2022, will return Cannondale to its roots of assembly in the United States, bringing jobs and more bicycles to the United States. Once the two factories are fully operational, Cannondale will be able to jointly produce 500,000 bicycles.
Peter Woods, CEO and President of Dorel Sports, Cannondale's parent company, said: "Cannondale is breaking the rules to ensure its future as a global Another step in the mission of being part of personal life. The momentum of our plan is progressing smoothly, which means bringing more Cannondale bikes closer to our dealers and their customers."
In order to improve efficiency, Cannondale has redesigned the entire process of assembling bicycles. From inbound logistics to warehousing, picking, assembly and outbound logistics. The physical process is fully supported by IT software to help the team monitor and control the performance and quality of the entire process. The 11,000-square-meter Almero plant will be built as a world-class activity center focusing on the production and supply of bicycles and electric bicycles, and will provide a strong expansion for CSG's Woudenberg office.
President Peter Woods added: "We will use 50 years of experience, innovation and energy in the next 50 years to look forward to more Cannondale dealers and drivers. There will be more things to celebrate. It's just the beginning. Through a multi-year growth plan, Cannondale is moving away from the model year framework and then aligning it with the retailer's sales season."
